Mission: SHAKE DOWN IN A NEBULA
Location: USS Cascade -- Location Classified
Timeline: ====

On:

The hidden outpost looked like someone had crashed a drydock into an asteroid. As the ship coasted into the drydock David and the crew collectively were uncertain what was supposed to happen next, David looked to the helm, "Station keeping, set condition blue."

David stood up, "Let's get too the bottom of this."

As what you could call the senior staff of the Cascade stood to make their way too the transporter room David turned to Ensign Chen first, "Elysia check on our guests, Alex go with her." David turned "Lyla, Sara you're with me I don't know what the hell is going on but it could get complicated," The group was intercepted by the Chief Engineer, "Gavin get the drive ready I have a feeling we're going to need to make a fast exit, and before you say it I know we're minimum of four hours before we can jump, find a way."

"So the question is what's the plan?" Sara said as they stepped onto the transporter pad.

"Knowing my dad..." he paused trying to focus "This is going to be complex."

David could feel the shock at those remarks, "Energise!" David ordered.

Materializing on the other side of the transporter beam David saw his father Rear Admiral Jarred Wallace Director of Starfleet intelligence standing there waiting on his son and officers, David stepped off the platform, "Sorry about the cloak and dagger but things have started to unravel back on earth so doing this anywhere else would be a bad idea."

David looked to make introductions, "Admiral this is Lieutenant Sara Clark and Ensign Lyla Powel."

Jarred looked too the two women, "I do apologise on the circumstances I'm sure this isn't the way you'd want too meet an admiral let alone your CO's father..." his smile looked more crooked than the normal to those meeting the man for the first time, his face was scared from numerous battles, his left eye had been damaged and long gone white from those battles as well, "What's the families status?"

"All are good, their newborn checked out good and healthy, but they're shaken following the revelation they've been discovered." David said in an even factual tone.

"Good, That colony world that the station is being moved too...is it secure enough for them?"

David paused "Not really, Veritas crashed there and the survivors are going to be a problem." David said as they started to walk down a corridor, "why?"

"We're short on options right now, we need too keep him safe until it's time, the president has been slowly coaxing Starfleet to engage in stricter legal enforcement on the colony worlds." The Admiral stated

"Pardon me sir but I thought there were some dissatisfied colonies that had been placed under martial law..." Sara said

"Partially, the reality of living on a colony world is you can have as much or as little help from the Federation as you want, the downside is several colony worlds have started to chafe under the rules and others that have valuable resources in the last few years have wound up under direct control of the federation counsel most of the time very quietly." The Admiral started

"But aren't the majority of colonies self governed?" Sara asked

"Generally yes, but some have quietly had their governments taken over, mostly by proxy candidates while others have quietly had their governor's replaced directly by Starfleet command."

"So what's so special about our guest?" David asked bluntly

"Miranin Three." The Admiral said

David's face felt flushed, "Wait I thought that a riot that went sideways?"

"No...Admiral Denvers gave the order to open fire on the protesters and our guest is the only surviving officer whose seen everything." The Admiral started "He turned up at intel about a week later coming clean about the whole thing and we've kept him in hiding until the inquiry in a few weeks."

"...and Denvers has been tearing apart known space looking for him?" David finished

"Yes, so the question of the day can you keep him hidden until the inquiry?" The elder Wallace said

"The station is out of the question, too many ships coming a going, the colony is full of too many questionable personalities..." David paused "What about hiding him right under their noses?"

"Meaning?" he asked

"The Bow Valley safehouses." David said as cryptically as possible.

"It's off the grid and not known outside of the working group so it might work." The Admiral said

"What's the Bow Valley?" Sara asked

"It's a valley on earth surrounded by mountains, most people pass through there going skiing in the Rocky mountains, the locals are made up of ex intel types who don't want to be found or bothered." David said as they arrived at what appeared to be the stations ops center.

"Taking him aboard the Asia is a bad idea, that'll immediately attract attention, but...." Jarred said looking to David

"A highspeed run to earth?" David stepped away from the group "How do I justify it?"

"We're dropping of Doctor Raymond anyways." Sara said "Or I could lie and say I'm pregnant and we're going for a quickie marriage."

The Admiral looked to the young woman, " Is there something I need to know?"

David felt himself getting flushed "We'll talk later on."

"What's the best option?" The Admiral said

"It's less suspicious if we use dropping the Doc off as cover, it's even better if we have some help...." David said

"Talia?" The admiral said as if he was speaking in code

"She is the one who handles all of this kind of thing after all she's the one who put mom up on Corsica Colony." David said

The Admiral looked to David, "There's more too it than that." he said flatly.
