Station: Tremors and Travels

Posted on Wed Aug 27th, 2025 @ 5:47pm by Captain Rogue "Ro" Green {Meji Master} {Flt. Cpt.} & Lieutenant JG Gavin Lasso {Honorary KDF}

Mission: The Inner Flame
Location: M-69
Timeline: Current

ON:

Sitting at her desk in the Fleet Captain's office, as the Starfleet liaison between SFHQ and M-69, Ro Green was reading through sector reports from various sources. Leaning back casually in her chair, pulled forward to be at her desk at the same time, Ro sipped from a mug of tea, the pot sitting aside on a hot plate. There was movement in her abdomen and then a sudden, forceful jab into her bladder. "Hey," she said aloud, setting her mug on the desk and then using that hand to go to her belly and poke it in the side. "My bladder is not a football, Yui." Smiling to herself at that, the baby settling down and no longer practicing martial arts with her guts, Ro reached to pick up her mug again and froze with her hand halfway to the beverage. A tremor in the Force hit her like a tsunami; pain, suffering, and loss of life.

Closing her eyes Ro dove into the Force, and reaching out with Sense she tried to focus on where that wave had come from. Images ran through her mind, visions of multiple events criss-crossing in her mind's eye. It slowed as the Force found the source for the tremor she had felt, the one that seemed to be more personal. She saw Ken, Taavis, Len and Loewen; each face coming and going through her mind. Until, finally, Taavis came back up. Her image was at first solid and true, and as the seconds passed, it became more translucent. Still there but faltering. Focusing her Sense like a railroad spike through a melon, Ro felt for Taavis. What she found made her inhale sharply as she saw, through the Force, all that had transpired involving Taavis. The explosion, the pain she had suffered, the will to crawl half-dead to reach Kudo and then plant her katra in his mind. The flesh known as Taavis was no more, vacant. Even as she was coming to terms with Taavis emotionally, Green then saw Ken. After all, the vision had shown Taavis crawling towards him with her broken body. He too had plasma burns and wounds from the explosion. Dropping her meditation Ro tapped her badge.

"Lasso, Green. Report to my office immediately, please." Before she got an answer Ro was on her feet and running ideas through her mind. Pacing back and forth, her decisions having been made while doing so, Gavin came through her door.

"You wanted to see me, Captain?" Lasso asked, his eyes not missing the intense expression on the Fleet Captain's face.

"I did," Green blurted out, stopping her pacing to face him. "I have to leave immediately due to an emergency. I need you to man this office until I return. As before, Gavin, just be the liaison and inform Sureth or Vehn of any HQ directives or interests. Call in who you need to to assist. Can I once again count on you, Lieutenant?"

"Absolutely, Captain. Commander Kehlani and I work well together."

"So I've noticed," Ro said with a grin. "I'll be taking my X-wing, and hope to have someone with me as an escort. No need to take resources from M-69 for my 'safety'." She was considered a flag officer simply due to her position as a Fleet Captain and liaison, so having an escort was par for the course. "Plus, having the Klingons to rely on is never a bad idea despite Kehlani being an officer in Starfleet."

Lasso gave a grin at that. "She has taught me much, Captain. It's too bad that M-69 doesn't reach out more often to our allies. You know the Klingons as well as I do. If snubbed one too many times they will leave Starfleet to their own devices when they are needed most, and will only engage for the glory of the Empire, not the Federation."

Green gave a curt nod to that, her eyes focused on him. "That's why I call on you over anyone else, Lieutenant. Your intimate relations with our allies is a boon. When I return we have much to discuss about your future here. But, I must get going. We'll have that meeting when I get back." She began to walk past him, giving a friendly hammer blow to his shoulder in passing. "Qapla'!" Out the door she went.

Once having left her inner sanctum, Ro Green went and gathered Ainkara. While they made their way to their fighters Kara also expressed that she had felt the death of Taavis. Cosmo and Nano were both already in their ship sockets and doing pre-flight when the women arrived. Once seated in the cockpits the two officers got clearance to leave and exited the base, zooming along the vector provided. Once free of the outer markers they jumped to warp for fifteen minutes, dropped to sublight, had their droids switch to the hyperspace motivator, and then entered hyperspace. Their destination was the coordinates of the last known position for the USS Capernum.
