Commander Sheyla sat in the captain's chair, using the command PADD to keep tabs on the clean-up and repair progress. The Bridge was quiet, with everyone focused on their stations and lost in thought, she was sure, over the recent tragedy. Even though she was Andorian, a proud warrior culture, losing friends and loved ones was never easy. The only reason she was not somewhere alone and releasing her own sorrow was duty. Andorians were very duty-minded, and if that trait helped to offset sorrow and rage, then so much the better. "Lieutenant Dahl, how are you holding up?"
Jynxza half spun to look back. "I'm fine, Commander. Really. My time to mourn will come later at my own pace."
Sheyla could respect that. "I understand. Just know that if you need a minute to go collect yourself, I give my blessing."
Jynxza gave a sorrowful grin at that, feeling the concern from her XO. "I appreciate that, Commander, I do. For now, work is helping me to maintain myself." She turned back to face the front.
T'Pri spoke up a few moments later. "Commander, two small blips just appeared on our sensors. Size would put them at warp shuttles or..." Her voice trailed off a moment before she corrected her report. "They are X-wings. Meji transponders are being sent. They belong to Captain Green and Ainkara although, Kara's reads as a free trader."
Sheyla, hearing that, gave a grin. "Contact Captain Green, please. Request visual communication." She saw and heard T'Pri tapping at her console.
The viewer appeared overlay on the viewport, Green's smiling face taking up the image. "Commander Sheyla, good to see you. That goes for all of you."
"You, as well, Captain Green." Sheyla responded. "I take it you heard the news?"
Ro's face went from smiles to serious in that instant. "I have. I spoke with Admiral Stone, as well, and I am aware of all the changes. Requesting permission to land so we can discuss this in person."
"Of course, Captain." Sheyla looked at the back of Jynxza's head. "Miss Dahl, prepare shuttle bay two for their arrival. No need for Security escort while aboard." Dahl acknowledged the order and did as instructed.
"See you soon, Sheyla. Green, out." The transmission closed.
Just as the viewer disappeared from the viewport, Loewen stepped onto the Bridge. He could feel a familiar presence nearby. "Were you talking to Captain Green, Number One?"
Sheyla beamed a smile at him as she stood up. "I was, Captain. She's heading for shuttle bay two as we speak. She and Kara have arrived in their X-wings."
Loewen's eyes lit up with happiness. "Excellent news. Bridge, call Beta shift on early. Take a break and give yourselves some down time. If you wish to meet with Captain Green and Kara, you're more than welcome to join us after we've had a chance to talk. I mean it when I say get some R&R. It's been a shit day and we all need something to smile about. Sheyla, if you'll see to the shift change, we'll meet in the lounge after Green has seen to her fiance'."
"You got it, Captain," Sheyla responded, glad to see the Captain actually smiling for a good reason. There was still the memorial that would be upcoming, but the crew knowing that the Fleet Captain had come all the way out to see how they were doing would do wonders for morale.
Leaving the Bridge, Captain Loewen made his way to shuttle bay two. The door automatically opened at his approach and he strode inside, seeing the women dismounting their fighters. The two droids, Cosmo and Nano, rolled over to confer with Jynxza's droid Pinky. They seemed just as excited about seeing her as Sean was to see Ro and Kara. He came in with arms held wide and the three way hug was met with warmth and love, all of them smiling like they just got elected prom sovereigns.
"So good to see you, Sean," Green said, then cleared her voice to be pseudo-serious. "Or, should I say, Captain Loewen?"
Kara still held to the other two, smiling as she herself felt their bond reunited. "Congratulations. The circumstances were not ideal but here we are." All three hugged again and then separated, moving towards the door. "We both felt Taavis's passing. We're so sorry you had to go through that."
Loewen gave a few slow nods, his eyes shifting from pure happiness to a combination of joy, sorrow, with some anger mixed in. "If not for Ken, she would be lost forever. I watched the internal recordings a few times and he pulled her towards the exit but, just as the escape hatch opened the manifold blew. He was just outside the door, Taavis was in the doorway, and why she suffered so much critical damage. It was the vent hole for the pressure and debris to exit from."
Green felt her heart sink, not for Kudo so much as for Taavis. Ken had tried to get her free but the malfunctioning manifold had gone critical way too quickly. "So, her katra is in Ken?"
The trio was now walking through the corridors. "We don't know for sure. T'Pri says she needs to mind meld with him when he is healthy enough to do so. Len...Doctor Holbrook, was tending to his plasma burns when I left Sickbay," Sean explained on the way. "He was looking damn good all things considered. I'm sure he was jacked up on various medications. He had some ugly bruising along his left brow and cheek. No doubt he had had a concussion."
Going from being Captain Green to Master Ro, Green had considered what she was hearing and spoke up when he had finished. "It seems I need to talk to Len about how the power of the Force really works, at the base level. The Force is created by the energy from life, so it can heal with great efficiency."
"She would truly love that," Loewen responded with a grin. "Laying of hands could be quite useful."
With the trio talking about various things they made their way through the ship.
