Capernum: Reunion

Posted on Fri Aug 29th, 2025 @ 6:05pm by Captain Rogue "Ro" Green {Meji Master} {Flt. Cpt.} & Captain Sean Loewen {Meji} & Lieutenant Griffon Resch & Lieutenant JG Ken Kudo {Meji} & Ainkara "Kara" Ski'a {SIS} {SoB} & Lieutenant Lenore (Len) Holbrook

Mission: The Inner Flame
Location: USS Capernum
Timeline: Current

ON:

The trio entered Sickbay, with Kara and Ro stepping up their pace and getting ahead of Loewen as they saw Holbrook near an empty biobed conferring with her staff. Sean stopped as he saw a PADD just lying on a bed near him, so he took it up and sent a message for Kudo and Resch to report to Sickbay as soon as possible, non-emergency. Clearing the PADD he then proceeded to head for the hugging trio of females.

"Len!" Ro said, approaching with a smile and opening her arms for a hug. Kara had lessened her approach by half a step to allow the first embrace to go off without a hitch. "So good to see you!"

Len turned towards Ro and gave her a hug, "Good to see you, and congratulations."

With Yui's bump now a bit bigger, Ro had leaned in at the waist so as not to squish her daughter in her womb when they hugged. "Thank you. Doctor Williams says that Yui is growing at an accelerated rate due to my augment genetics. She should be born in another three months. Four at the most."

As Ro had been speaking Kara had come in and given Len a warm hug but remained quiet to not interrupt Green.

Len returned Kara's hug and gave her a smile. "That is definitely an quick gestation period."

"Tell me about it," Ro sighed, with no frustration apparent. "Last week my bump was an inch lower."

Loewen finally joined them, smiling at hearing about the baby. "Well, look who her mother is. Not surprising she wants out to say hi, mom." His eyes met Len's, and he glanced at the two guests and then winked at Len, using his body language to tell her their men were on their way.

"I can't wait to be an aunt," Kara said with a smile. "All of you being the only family I have."

"It would be nice to be an aunt. Aunt Kara and Aunt Len sounds nice." She said with a grin.

Ro's chin dimpled and her bottom lip tried to quiver before she cleared her throat slightly to get herself under control. Her eyes had welled up but had not quite reached tears yet. "That means so much, really. Yui will have no shortage of love. You guys honor us with your words."

Sean leaned in and gave her a one arm over the shoulder hug. "I once heard you say, lady, that family doesn't end with blood. We're here to prove that." The Sickbay door slid open and in walked Kudo and Resch together.

Kara gave a squeal of joy and ran into Resch's arms, whereas Kudo quickened his pace and came in to Ro, with Sean getting out of the way. Both couples kissed and smiled, hugging as if they had been separated for a decade not just a few days.

Loewen got in next to Len and leaned in, kissing her cheek. "Doctor, this is good medicine."

Len leaned into Sean and smiled at the others. She had her hand on her abdomen and felt something change within her body. She closed her eyes and focused the Force within herself and felt a new spark of life come into being. She opened her eyes looked up at Sean.

With so much positive energy in the chamber, Sean was feeling it from all sides. However, the Force had him locked in on Len, always, and he felt that pang of surprise from her so he looked over at her face, showing him through expression that she had been taken aback by something. "What? What is it?"

As if on cue, both Ro and Kara felt that same tremor, getting their men to stand still while they all got quiet and looked to Len. Ro was the one who asked. "Are you okay, Len?"

Len grabbed a medical tricorder and turned it toward her abdomen. After a few seconds she looked at the results. She looked over to Ro. "Looks like Yui will have a cousin."

Every face in the room showed elation, but Sean's most of all. He did not have to ask Len if she was sure. Of course she was, she was the CMO after all. He gave her a huge hug and squeezed her lovingly. Kara and Ro came in too so Loewen stepped aside so the hens could all hug and express their joy, while he stepped over with the roosters. He got handshakes and slaps on the back in congratulations.

Once the men had given over their congrats, Kudo offered an idea. "Captain...Sean, I think we should move this celebration to the lounge. With all we've been through the crew could use the morale boost of positive news."

"I agree," Griffon added, his own smiles showing how happy he was with the entire situation. He had been to ground zero where the explosion happened, had seen the horror it had done to man and machine. But this, this right here, showed that life would continue despite tragedy. "Plus, any kid of yours is going to be a my nephew whether you like it or not."

"Ditto," Kudo said with a smile. Their conversation was not in low tones, the ladies able to hear the whole thing.

"Len, ladies, you up for a gathering in the lounge?" Loewen asked.

Len turned to the beta shift Doctor and gave her a nod before looking back over to the guys. "Sure, any positive news would be good for morale."

Hearing that, the fellas paired up with their respective lovers and the herd moved through the ship to the main lounge. Once within the no-rank zone, they put two four person tables together and got seated, the servers coming and taking their orders. The lounge had a decent sized crowd, all watching Ro's last performance in Club Bliss when she had done Elton John and other songs. It was great background music for those not watching just enjoying.

Ro leaned in to Ken. "You shared that? At least they seem to be enjoying it."

A server in passing paused long enough to say with a smile. "It plays all day, every day, Ms. Green. Music is one thing but a performance is another." She moved on.

Loewen was sitting next to Len and gave her a quick kiss. "I can't believe I'm going to be a father. Hot damn!"

Len smiled at Sean, "I don't know how my augmentation would affect the gestation period for our child."

Ro gave a giggle and addressed Len across the table. "If it ends up like mine you'll look like me in three months. I noticed the bump and had Dr. Williams run some tests. Ken and I had only been intimate for right around a month, but Yui was three months along. My genetics really went into overdrive on this child. My twins didn't develop this quickly so I can only assume it was because there was two of them."

"Well we will take it one day at a time. I'll be happy with them being healthy." Len said with a hand on her abdomen.

"I agree," Ro smiled and leaned back in her chair.

Sean reached over as he leaned back, rubbing Len's belly in a fatherly way so that outside observers would not get the wrong idea as to what he was doing. "Nothing like having a doctor as a mother. Just make sure you consult others, not just yourself all the time." He gave Len a wink. "Captain's orders."

Len gave a small laugh, "Understood. I'll consult with others as needed." She took a sip of water.

As there was a lull in conversation for a minute, Ro decided to pipe up. "Captain Loewen, I have a favor to ask."

"Shoot," Sean said, his mood on cloud nine right now.

"Will you perform the ceremony before I head back to M-69? For Ken and I to become married?" When Ken looked at her in surprise she leaned into his shoulder with a big smile. "I'm your wife, Honey. You know this. I say we make it official so I can be Mrs. Ro Kudo. And, I'm sure Yui Tamiko Kudo would appreciate not being a bastard child upon her birth."

Kudo was taken aback, wanting to ask Green the same question for some time now, but felt she may not be ready. That it would feel rushed. "I would be proud, very proud, to call you my wife." The tables around them erupted in applause and whistles of excitement, with a few 'congratulations' being thrown out. "They like it, too," Ken laughed out. The two of them shook the hands around them and gave thanks for their support.

Sean let it all settle back to a talking volume, and gave them both a big smile. "It would be my honor. We'll get the ceremony for the lost out of the way and then we'll follow it up with your wedding. Something small, or a full on ceremony?"

Green gave a light grin. "The crew can be there or watch from around the ship. But, just a small ceremony is fine by me. I just want to have it done so we can get on with our lives. No dress uniforms, no fancy clothes, just nicely dressed. Then, festivities back here."

"I'll let Sheyla know," Loewen said. "We'll get it set up for you two." Seeing these two ready to tie the knot had Sean holding Len that much closer. He had been thinking the same thing the entire time they had been sitting here now that he knew she was with child.

Len had serene look on her face. "Who do you think would be able to do our ceremony?" She asked Sean with a smile.

Giving her a smile and kiss, Sean nudged Len slightly and then chinned across the table at the woman who had just asked for him to marry her to another. "Ro is a Captain. She has full rights to marry those who ask her. Plus, when she marries us she'll then be Captain Ro Kudo, unless I heard that wrong?"

Ro blushed a bit and shook her head that he had not heard that wrong.

"Would you do us the honor of marrying us? I would like to be Mrs. Lenore Loewen before our child is born." She asks Ro.

"I would love to," Ro said. "Let's do the ceremonies back to back, then. Ken and I, then I stand at the podium and repeat the process for you two." She then gave a playful grin and expression. "Separate honeymoons though, I insist."

Resch gave a laugh. "I was just gonna ask about that, but you were on point, Ro. So," Griff went on. "If you're getting married." A finger wagged back and forth at Ro and Kudo, then moved to the other two. "And, you're getting married. Would you...?" A hand from his left side shot out and clapped over his mouth even as Kara leaned against him with an arm over his shoulders.

"Don't listen to him, he's delirious," Kara said in jest. When Resch removed her hand from his mouth with a smile, she went on. "Not yet, okay? They have all been together a while. Let me settle into this being together thing. Please?" Resch gave her a loving nod and kissed her.

Kudo could not help himself. "Better check if she's pregnant."

Ro, Resch, Kara, and Kudo cracked up, with Sean chuckling and shaking his head.

Len smiled. "A small informal wedding is fine with me as well."

"I am not pregnant, I assure you." Kara said. "Even if he did try to rearrange my kidneys." She kissed Griffon's cheek quickly before he could drop his head while blushing, the back of his neck and ears showing he was turning as red as his shirt.

Ro, catching the rather audacious sexual innuendo, smiled from ear to ear while responding. "Kara! Oh my gosh! TMI girl. T-M-I." The second time she said TMI, there was a slight up and down chopping motion with her hand to accentuate each letter even as she giggled.

Kara looked confused even as she was grinning. "TMI?" She looked around the table for an answer, not knowing what the acronym stood for.

"It means that you gave us too much information." Len said with a grin.

As Len said that, Resch lifted his head showing that he had been silently laughing and holding it in. That was the main reason for his face being red, but there was a bit of embarrassment in it the blush, too. "Don't make me tell them what you said to me. Two can play at this game, Kara."

Kara herself gave a lime blush to her own cheeks, then made the pantomime for zipping her lips. "I'm done, promise."

Another round of laughter at that. Around them, the other tables could not help but hear what was being said by the command staff and superiors. But, here in the lounge, everyone was an equal. They smiled and laughed at what was being said and discussed, talking among themselves and showing that morale was not lost on this ship. The funeral service would bring them back to reality but for now, it was good medicine for them to laugh and remember that they were not alone, that their superiors were there for them even in the most mundane of ways.

"Yui Tamiko Kudo," Ken suddenly said during another quiet moment. "I love it. A strong name for our daughter. Just don't get baby happy, Love. After Yui is born let us wait, at minimum, a year before we have another. I want a full family but not one after another." He smiled and gave Ro a kiss.

Ro returned the kiss and smiled. "I don't think I'll be ready for another pregnancy right after Yui is born, Ken. Something tells me that rearing her is going to be...interesting."

"Speaking of which," Kara piped in. "Len, did you happen to check your child's gender? Griffon talked about a nephew, but I do not recall you mentioning it."

"Sorry Griffon, seems you'll be getting a niece instead of a nephew." Len said with a smile.

Giving her belly a rub and looking down, Ro spoke up. "You hear that, Yui? You'll have a girl cousin." As of late, Ro had been receiving empathic indicators from Yui, which she knew was due to the Force. She could tell when Yui was 'happy' or 'sad', or any other emotion. This meant that her heart and brain were developing as fast as her little augment body. When she had talked about a girl cousin she felt a rush of happiness within. Smiling at that feeling she looked up at Len. "She's happy at the news. Her happiness flares every time she hears Ken's voice, as well. She knows who Papa is."

Kudo gave Ro's belly a gentle squeeze and rub, pushing in a little bit to feel her within better. "I love you, too, Yui."

Len smiled at Kudo and Ro, enjoying the happy emotions that are around her. She takes another sip of water and when she sets it down she intertwined her fingers with Sean's.

Sean, feeling the hand clasp his, gave it a gentle, loving squeeze. He hated to have to do it, but as Captain he did have responsibilities to get to with his damaged ship. "I hate to have to do it, but I'm sure you all understand. I need to make some command calls and see to the ship. A CO's job is 24/7."

When Resch and Kudo went to get up, Loewen waved them off. "No, gentlemen. Please, stay. "Alpha shift is over and you deserve some down time. Captain Green, you and Kara are welcome to stay as long as you need aboard Capernum. I'm sure quarters won't need to be arranged." With a smile, he kissed Len and then stood up, moving along behind her chair to sidestep out. As he did so he also kissed the top back of her head in passing. "Think of some names, babe. Run them passed me and we'll see what we come up with. Love you." The look in his eyes said he did not want to leave but duty demanded it as Captain. He walked out of the lounge. Everyone else remained seated, Sean's leaving causing a lull in conversation.

Ro, taking this opportunity, moved her chair over by Len, taking up her left hand in both of hers. "The trials of being married to a CO. But, that's not what I wanted to talk about. We need to get you aligned with the Force, make it a part of your every day existence. For your child and for you. I hope the lightsaber fit you well?" Ken and Griff began to talk between themselves so Kara moved to the chair that Loewen had just vacated, to be in on the Force conversation.

Len nodded. "It does. I have been practicing after alpha shift. I have been working on my connection with the Force as well."

"So good to hear," Ro replied, letting Len have her hand back. "Keep at it. The more you stay in tune with the Force the easier it gets. A strengthening of the spirit, as it were. Just be aware, if there are others who can sense that use, you can cause ripples in the Force; tremors. Also, you are Force sensitive, so there is a high likelihood that your daughter will also be sensitive, as well as, Yui. It can be quite trying once their powers begin to manifest." She gave a smile, remembering her twins being very powerful Force users and the trouble they often caused because of it. Innocent trouble, but trouble nonetheless.

Len nodded. "I will keep that in mind. Any help that you can provide would be appreciated."

Kara said the next part, even as Ro went to say pretty much the same. "We're a comm call away, Len. You have questions or need advice, never hesitate to ask. I may not be Meji anymore but I still fall back on the teachings of my old Master." She gave a friendly nod and grin to Ro.

Ro giggled. "What she said." Green could not have been more happy being around the people she cared for the most. "You flounder in anyway and we're there for you. But, it was a long but short flight and I really need a nap. Girlie eats up some of my energy."

"Then you should go take a nap. I need to get going as well, have to start packing our things to move into the Captain's quarters." She said as she stood up.

Ro gave them all hugs, and then talked quietly with Ken for a bit, before she left the lounge and Kudo turned to give Len a hug himself. "Have a good evening, Len," he said. After that he sat back down to visit longer with his shipmates.

Len nodded to Kudo before leaving the Lounge. She walked to her old quarters and started packing up their belongings to be moved into the Captain's quarters.
