Mission:
Stellar Problems
Location: Transport ship
Timeline: The first day
On:
It was an uneventful thing to see the aging Oberth class transport docked at the small docking port. Any casual onlooker wouldn't pay attention too the nearly fifty year old ship either accept for it's lone passenger, David Wallace. David walked through the airlock into the ship and it's seemingly luxurious interior. The corridors were more reminiscent of luxury liner from earths past. The deck itself had what looked like a neatly kept, the corridor walls looked to be an antiqued mahogany or similar material, a steward approached smiling, "Lieutenant Commander Wallace I presume?"
David turned slightly, "Yes"
"This way sir your cabin is ready for you and Captain Sanchez is on the bridge if you'd like too see him." the steward said.
"Thank you, I'm going to ditch the duty uniform first then I'll make my way to the bridge." David said as they started to walk, "I wasn't expecting such a plush interior for a ship like this."
"The Guardian is purposely meant to be a discrete means of transporting Starfleet intelligence officers and other dignitaries who don't want to draw attention, in the case of this specific ship it's yours too get too your planned destination." The Steward said as they rounded the corner "These are your quarters sir."
"Thank you, uh what's your name?" David asked
"I'm Maxwell, if you need anything I'm a comm signal away."
"Thank you again, just one thing I noticed the replicator is fairly basic is there somewhere I can get a meal?" David asked.
"There's a small mess hall one section over with a full replicator and a small galley at your disposal, since you're one of the few passengers you basically have run of the ship and it's facilities."
"Thank you again." David said as the steward made a discrete exit.
He set his bag on the end of the bed and looked around, the quarters looked like something off of a luxury liner, similar paneling on the walls with a few decorations. He quickly changed out of uniform into a more casual outfit and exited his suite, as he stepped into the alcove where his door was he saw a woman walking by she turned to politely smile as she walked by. He didn't remember seeing anyone else boarding the ship when he did, but then again he was the last person to possibly board. He walked out toward the corridor and looked around, he found a small sign with a simple arrow Mess hall and the arrow pointing in the direction the other passenger was walking, he looked the opposite direction and saw the turbolift and walked over too it and stepped in as the door slid open.
In a few short seconds he was on the bridge, he paused as the door slid open, a junior crewman looked slightly surprised at David's appearance stepping aside to allow him to step on the bridge. The command chair swiveled to face David, "Welcome aboard Mr Wallace, I'm Captain Sanchez." an older man said standing to greet his guest.
"Thank you Captain, this is quite the ship." David said not hiding his amazement.
"Thank you, we've transported your father on a few occasions in the last few years when he's chosen too not take the Asia out of spacedock." Sanchez said standing.
"I've noticed Dad has been aboard his ship more these days." David said
"So I'm of the understanding we're taking you too the Alpha Centauri Ship yard?" the Captain said
"Yes, I'm uh..." David paused was he supposed to say why he was aboard.
"Well your clearly meeting up with a ship, your first command?" the older man asked.
"Sort of, I'm taking command of one of the garrison ships." David said
"Just like your old man, reluctant too take the chair but when he did it was something that needed to happen." He said "It's your turn kid, step out from under your dad's shadow and make your own name, well from what I understand making it better known."
